Growing brands
Customer support for growing Shopify brands
Orders grow faster than headcount, and every campaign arrives as a wave of the same five questions. Hushdesk sorts the wave, answers the routine part and puts the rest in front of the right person, on a flat plan that does not jump with it.
Peak season playbook
Scaling customer support through a campaign: before, during and after
A sale, a launch or the holidays. The same three phases every time, and the Hushdesk features that carry each one.
01Before
Two weeks outDecide now what you will not have time to decide later.
Write the campaign’s saved replies
The code that will not apply, the shipping cut-off, the gift-wrap question. Macros are suggested from the customer’s words, and the AI quotes them.
AI drafts and macrosSet SLA targets and holiday hours
First-reply and resolution targets per channel, priority or tag, counted in your business hours, with closed days marked.
AutomationBuild the routing rules
Parcel problems to the warehouse team, wholesale to the owner, a high priority for words like “broken”.
AutomationRun the AI in Copilot on campaign topics
Read its drafts for discount and stock questions for a few days before trusting them to Autopilot.

02During
The busy daysKeep the queue moving without anyone watching it.
Round-robin to whoever is online
New tickets go to the available team member with the fewest open tickets, and skip anyone at the open-ticket limit you set.
AutomationLet the AI take the routine topics
Order status, sizing, product questions and stock answer on their own. Raise the daily cap of automatic replies if you need to; it goes up to 2,000.
AI AgentMerge the doubles
A rule merges a new ticket into the same customer’s open ticket from the last few hours, so “any update?” does not become a second job.
AutomationWork by SLA clock
Every open ticket shows which clock is running and when it is due. The clock pauses while you wait on the customer.

03After

Read the SLA and Busiest times reports
Where you answered late, and the hours and days that need another person online next time.
AnalyticsCheck topics and satisfaction
Which questions the campaign caused, and how customers rated the answers in the satisfaction survey.
AnalyticsTurn hand-overs into macros
The AI activity log lists every ticket it handed over and why. Each repeated reason is a saved reply waiting to be written.
AI AgentFollow up on what is still waiting
A “time passes” rule can nudge, snooze or add a note to tickets nobody has touched for a set number of hours.
Automation
Routing
One stream in, the right queue out: how ticket routing works
Every rule in Hushdesk reads the same way: when something happens, if the ticket matches, then do this. Rules run in the order you set, in plain words anyone on the team can read. They sit in Workflows next to SLAs and assignment limits, and come with Starter and higher plans.
A common setup for a growing brand: order status to the AI, parcel problems to the warehouse team by round robin, anything with “wholesale” in the subject to the owner at high priority. See every action in automation.

When
- A ticket is created
- The customer replies
- An agent replies
- Time passes (hours after creation or the last message)
If
- Channel, status or priority
- Tags, subject or message words
- Customer email, assignee or team
- Detected intent, or a ticket field
Then
- Assign a person, a team or round robin
- Set priority, add tags, snooze
- Add a note or send a macro
- Merge into the customer’s open ticket
Plan caps, explained
What happens to the bill when the busy month comes
- Each plan includes a monthly number of conversations and AI answers. Seats are unlimited on all of them.
- A conversation counts when your team replies to it. Spam, bots, auto-replies and tickets closed without a reply never count.
- An AI answer counts only when the AI resolved the ticket and the customer did not write back for 72 hours.
- Meters on Home and in Billing turn amber at 80 %, so a busy month never surprises you.
- At the limit, customer messages keep arriving. Over the AI limit the AI goes back to drafting; nothing is charged automatically.
- An owner can raise the AI cap alone. Each extra AI answer is $0.30, up to the limit the owner sets.
Plans run from Free to Scale with flat prices. Compare every plan.
Growing in steps
What to switch on as the volume grows
While one or two people answer
One inbox, saved replies and the AI in Copilot. Everyone sees everything; assign by hand.
When a team shares the queue
Teams, round robin and SLA targets. Let the AI answer order status and sizing on its own.
When campaigns add peaks
Merge rules for doubles, open-ticket limits per agent, and a weekly look at Busiest times to staff the hours that need it.
Measuring each step is what analytics is for. If you are moving from another helpdesk, the Gorgias comparison covers switching.
Customer support for growing brands: questions and answers
How do growing Shopify brands scale customer support without hiring?
Growing Shopify brands scale support by letting software take the repetitive part: an AI agent for routine questions, rules that sort and assign tickets, and saved replies for everything else. Hushdesk does all three in one inbox, so the people you do hire spend their time on conversations that need judgement.
How do I prepare customer support for Black Friday or a big sale?
Prepare about two weeks ahead. Write saved replies for the questions the sale will cause, set SLA targets and holiday hours, build rules that route parcel problems to the right people, and run the AI in Copilot on campaign topics. Check the last campaign’s Busiest times report to plan who is online.
What is round-robin ticket assignment?
Round-robin assignment hands each new ticket to the next available agent in a team, so work spreads evenly. In Hushdesk it picks the online team member with the fewest open tickets and skips anyone at the open-ticket limit you set. Rules and auto-assignment come with Starter and higher plans.
What is an SLA in customer support?
An SLA, or service level agreement, is a target time to reply to or resolve a ticket, such as a first reply within four business hours. Hushdesk counts SLAs in your business hours and holidays, pauses the clock while you wait on the customer, shows a countdown on every ticket and reports breaches.
What happens when we reach our plan’s limit?
Customer messages always arrive, and nothing is charged automatically. Over the conversation limit, replies pause until you change plan or the month resets; over the AI limit, the AI goes back to drafting. Meters on Home and in Billing turn amber at 80 %, so the limit is never a surprise.
Does Hushdesk upgrade my plan automatically?
No, Hushdesk never upgrades your plan or adds charges on its own. Plans are flat monthly prices with hard caps. The only possible extra charge is AI answers above your plan’s cap, and only after an owner raises that cap: each extra AI answer costs $0.30, up to the limit the owner chose.
Can the AI agent handle a spike in order-status questions?
Yes, within limits you set. The AI Agent answers the topics you allow on its own, up to a daily cap of automatic replies (100 by default, adjustable up to 2,000) and your plan’s monthly AI answers. Anything over a cap, or outside the allowed topics, gets a draft for your team instead.
Which reports show where customer support is slowing down?
Start with the SLA, Busiest times and Agents reports. The SLA report shows where you answered late, Busiest times shows the hours and days messages arrive, and Agents shows how the work was shared. All ten reports are on every plan and filter by date, channel, agent, team and tag.
How do automation rules route tickets in Hushdesk?
A rule has a trigger, conditions and actions. It runs when a ticket is created, a customer or agent replies, or a set time passes. It checks fields such as channel, tags, subject, message words, priority or detected intent, then assigns, tags, sets priority, snoozes, adds a note, sends a macro or merges duplicates.
When should a growing brand move from Starter to Growth?
Move up when your conversations or AI answers regularly pass 80 % of Starter’s monthly caps of 1,000 conversations and 150 AI answers. Growth includes 5,000 conversations and 600 AI answers for $99 a month. Seats are unlimited on both, so hiring is never a reason to change plan.
Can Hushdesk merge duplicate tickets from the same customer?
Yes, with a rule. The merge action folds a new ticket into the same customer’s newest open ticket from the last hours you choose, so a shopper who emails and then writes again about the same order does not create two tickets for two different people to answer.
